The Troop Release Date Announced
Titan Comics have announced the release date of a new creator owned comic called The Troop and I, for one, am pretty excited about it.
Due out in December, this new miniseries about troubled teenagers who discover they have super powers is illustrated by the up and coming artist Joshua Cassara and written by Noel Clarke.
Pause as I take a calming breath.
For those of you who don’t know, or are sat there thinking, “Noel Clarke, Noel Clarke, why do I know that name”, Noel Clarke played the entertaining Micky the Idiot in Russel T Davis’ tenure on Doctor Who and he wrote/directed and starred in the amazing Kidulthood and Adulthood movies. Oh, he was also in the most recent Star Trek film.
Yes, it is indeed that Noel Clarke. And he has written a superhero comic hailed by Mark Millar (no less) as “Fan-Bloody-Tastic…I loved it!”
This has been rumoured for a while and a teaser was released at this years San Diago Comic Con. As a fan of Noel Clarke’s work, both on and off screen (he was in Dalek Empire 4 from Big Finish which I unsurprisingly love), I have been looking forward to this comic for a while now and the news of an actual release date is like music to my ears. And that cover looks outstanding; there’s a lot of menace there waiting to erupt.
The first issue is released on 9 December with a choice of two magnificent covers so get down to your local comic book store and get ordering.
