Three Easy Steps To Make A Tesseract

Share with your fellow Consumers!

Today we’re going to help you create a very easy, but effective Tesseract.  This cosplay accessory is perfect for Red Skull, Captain America and Avengers cosplays, to name just a few.

Starting Cube

You will need:

1 Cricket/Baseball/Tennis ball display case
1 Roll of wax paper
1 Can of frosted glass spray
Self sustained blue LED’s (quantity will vary with intensity of the LED’s and how bright you want the cube to be).

Step One

Spray the display case with the frosted glass spray, this gives the cube the perfect almost opaque look that you need. You will probably need to do this in layers so be careful leave it to dry for as long as it needs.  Thinner even coats will work better, it takes quite a few so if you grab it to soon you will leave prints and ruin all your hard work.

Step Two

Cut a piece of the wax paper, it will need to be enough to crumble in a way that will fill the entire display case – so don’t be too stingy with it!

Step Three

Insert the LEDs, you can simply push them in but will want to make sure that they are inside the wax paper as this helps to refract the light and give the illusion of the energy flow inside the Tesseract.

Important Tip: I had some problems finding suitable LEDs I recommend looking for safety collar LED’s for dogs – strange but true!

The finished article!

If you’re going for a long day Con I advise to take extra LED’s with you as they can run out pretty quick! Good luck, let us know how your Tesseract project goes!
