First Suicide Squad Trailer Released

It has to be said that Warner Bros are doing pretty well recently in regards to their building of their own Cinematic Universe.  After the first trailer for Batman vs Superman didn’t completely set the world on fire, the release of the second trailer has really peaked people’s interest in it.  And the release of the trailer, so soon after it’s premiere at San Diego Comic Con, meant that many more eyes got to see the trailer as it was supposed to be and not via dodgy, shaky cam footage.

It looked as though that was the only trailer we were going to see from them until earlier this evening when, after admitting defeat in trying to stop bootleg copies of it, Warner Bros and the director David Ayer released the first official trailer for Suicide Squad!

In a statement the president of worldwide marketing and international distribution for Warner Bros, Sue Kroll, said:

“Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday.  We have been unable to achieve that goal.  Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed.  We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic-Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation.”

And not just the Squad, we also get to hear for the first time from Jared Leto’s Joker!  Yes, the look still hasn’t got everyone convinced, but what about the voice?  Has he managed to make his own mark as Mister J?  Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!

Suicide Squad is released in the UK and US on August 5th, 2016
