PlayStation Plus August 2015 – Instant Game Collection
After last month’s huge success with Rocket League, the August instant game collection has a lot to live up to. Here’s what will be available for PlayStation Plus subscribers from next Tuesday onwards.
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris – PS4
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris takes place deep in the deserts of Egypt. In her new adventure, Lara must join forces with rival treasure hunter Carter Bell and imprisoned gods Horus and Isis, to defeat the evil god Set. As Lara and her companions fight the elements of nature across the sands and through ancient tombs, they will battle legendary deities and creatures of myth. With the fate of the world at stake, Lara must recover the fragments of Osiris to stop Set from enslaving all mankind.
God of War: Ascension – PS3
The most ambitious God of War adventure in the series so far, God of War: Ascension takes us right back to where it all began. Discover the origins of Kratos as he takes his first steps on a now legendary quest for freedom.
Limbo – PS4
Limbo is a 2D sidescroller where the player guides an unnamed boy through dangerous environments and traps as he searches for his sister. The developer built the game’s puzzles expecting the player to fail before finding the correct solution. Playdead called the style of play “trial and death”, and used gruesome imagery for the boy’s deaths to steer the player from unworkable solutions.
Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones – PS4, PS3 & PS Vita
In Stealth Inc 2, players return to the dark corridors of PTi Industries in Stealth Inc 2, but this time they aren’t limited to test chambers – they have full run of the facility, breaking into chambers and exploring an open world, employing brand new equipment in a quest to save fellow clones from human experimentation.
CastleStorm – PS3 & PS Vita
CastleStorm features medieval ballista weaponry, allowing players to launch an assortment of explosive weapons including Morningstars, Apple Grenades, Homing Eagles, and even flying sheep to defeat an onslaught of enemies trying to capture your flag and destroy your castle. Deploy a fearsome ground attack of swordsmen, knights, and donkey riders in order to protect your castle games, and if all else fails, call upon powerful spells to help keep the enemy at bay.
Sound Shapes – PS4, PS3 & PS Vita
Sound Shapes is equal parts musical instrument and game. Users can play through a single player campaign mode or compose original music and levels, all of which utilize the PS Vita’s front touchscreen and rear touch panel. During gameplay, explore a musical world in the form of a classic 2D side scroller, where every action creates a unique game sound track. During creation, players can lay down collectible notes and samples, as well as musical game objects and hazards.
What do you think of this month’s PlayStation Plus haul consumers? Will you be giving any of these a go? Let us know in the comments!
