Release Date For First Chapter Of King’s Quest Announced
Sierra, the recently revitalized publisher of the original King’s Quest games, has revealed that the first chapter of the new King’s Quest – titled King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember – will launch as a digital download in North America on July 28th at $9.99 for Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and Windows PC, then a day later on July 29th for Xbox One and Xbox 360. Presumably these release dates will also be shared by other territories with a £7.99 price tag in the UK.
Developed by The Odd Gentlemen, King’s Quest rekindles the classic feelings of exploration, wit and wonder that have always defined this family-friendly series since its introduction over 30 years ago. The first entry in a planned five-chapter arc, King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember sets the stage for an unforgettable journey to come with original places, puzzles and personalities to discover. As an aging King Graham reflects on a life of adventure with his granddaughter, Gwendolyn, King’s Quest transports players back to the untold tales of Graham’s youth to experience a story that bridges generations.
Alongside the release date, Sierra has also announced the existence of a bundle that you can buy – named King’s Quest: The Complete Collection – that’ll get you all five chapters of King’s Quest as they’re gradually released across 2015 and 2016. As some extra incentive to buy it all at once, you’ll also get a ‘bonus playable story epilogue’ that sounds as if it’ll be exclusive to the bundle. You can preorder the collection on PSN and Steam now for $39.99 or £31.99, but Xbox users will have to wait until July 7th to be able to preorder for the same price.
To go along with these announcements, Sierra released a trailer as well. Check it out!
