What was your first cosplay?

My first true cosplay, which motivated me to start actively cosplaying, was a burlesque inspired Poison Ivy but I’ve always had an interest in costuming since a young age!

What was your first convention?

I’ve only been cosplaying seriously since LSCC (London Super Comic Con) in 2014, but I’d attended MCM October in 2013, though cosplay hadn’t played a significant part in that convention!

How did you get into cosplay?

I’d been aware of cosplay for a while before I decided try it after I came across some beautiful costumes on DeviantArt back in 2007. I was really excited to find out the reason people chose to cosplay and as soon as I built the confidence to make and wear my favourite characters, I began to look forward to making new costumes!

What is your dream cosplay?

My dream cosplay is currently Katarina’s classic skin from League of Legends. I just need to improve my leather work and weapons before I try it out, though it will definitely be in the near future. I’ve been planning it for a while now!

What cosplay or prop are you most proud of?

I’m pretty proud of my Poison Ivy, she’s been my favourite character to wear so far and I altered my original Ivy to a Bunny style, which was extremely fun to wear! The time and effort put into sewing the ivy on and gluing each gem was so time consuming but I was really proud with how both costumes came out!

What is your favourite martial to work with?

At the moment I’m working with a lot of fur for different gijinkas, which is pretty cool to work with! It gets absolutely everywhere but I keep finding myself going back to it, but I’m definitely more suited to fabric work than armour, I can’t get the hang of Worbla at all!

What is your favourite convention and why?

I really enjoyed LSCC last year though unfortunately I couldn’t make it this year! The atmosphere was so relaxed and the quality of costumes is always amazing. But MCM always has something happening, so it would have to be a tie between those two!

Best cosplay moments?

Being asked to roll around in ivy in my Poison Ivy with PaperCube at my first convention! He was the first photographer I shot with and I was a little uncomfortable at first but he soon directed me right and it ended up being a good laugh! And definitely meeting CosShaerk, who’s turned out to be one of my closest friends and an amazingly talented cosplayer!

Worst cosplay moments?

Costume malfunctions and getting to a convention to find I’d left something at home. It seems every single convention I’ve been too (which is only 4 in costume!) something has happened which has had me running off to sort myself out. Maybe one day I’ll learn to have a proper costume check before leaving for a convention!

What is your next big project?

I’m working on Leopard Nidalee from League of Legends at the moment, though I don’t have any big projects coming up at the moment!

Any tips for new cosplayers?

Just be confident and don’t be afraid to make mistakes, everyone has to start somewhere! Also, people don’t get angry if you ask for help at a convention, almost everyone I’ve had to go to for help has been extremely friendly and directed me in the right way!

Do you have Facebook page, Twitter or Youtube?

I have a facebook page which I’ll be on a lot more actively from now one!
