PlayStation Plus April 2015 Instant Game Collection
The PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection for April is available this week – just in time to cure those post bank holiday blues. We take a look at this month’s content, which includes a mixture of big name game and unique indie titles.
Dishonored – PS3
Games don’t get much more steampunk than Dishonored. It’s a fantastic game and one of the most underrated of last generation. Corvo, who after being framed for the murder of the Empress, must become and Assassin to clear his name and take down all those who conspired against him. With a mixture of mystical powers and unique weapons the gameplay is very diverse; you can either stealth your way through it or put up a fight.
Never Alone – PS4
The first of three offerings for the PS4 this month, Never Alone is a lovely, atmospheric puzzle platformer set in Alaska. It features tales from Alaskan Natives, the Iñupiaq people, whilst following a young girl named Nuna and an arctic fox. The game has both single player and multiplayer that requires players to work cooperatively to succeed in challenging and harsh environments. It comprises of eight chapters, which take the player across treacherous ice floes, Arctic tundra, ice caves, boreal forests, cliff-built coastal villages, and more.
Tower of Guns – PS4/Ps3
Available for PS4 and Ps3, Tower of Guns is another game making its debut on PlayStation Plus. It is a first person shooter with completely randomised levels to keep the players guessing. The creators take pride in the lack of story – this is a pick up and play game for people who just want to shoot the bad guys with giant guns! The game boasts some interesting power ups too; never mind double jumps, with the right items in Tower of Guns you can achieve centuple jumps!
Aaru’s Awakening – PS4/PS3
Aaru’s Awakening is a hand-drawn 2D action platform available for both PS4 and Ps3 this month. The game puts players in charge of Aaru, a mythical creature with two unique abilities; teleportation and charging. He uses these abilities as he travels through the dangerous world of Lumenox to defeat an evil entity. These two abilities are at the heart of every level design throughout the game, to make for a challenging and fluid experience.
MonsterBag – PS Vita
The first of two games available for PS Vita this month is of course about a rucksack shaped like a monster! This cute and kitsch adventure also promises a hidden dark side, as you stealthily guide the monsterbag through puzzles and platforms in order to reach his friend Nia.
Killzone Mercenary – PS Vita
The popular first person shooter became portable when Killzone Mercenary was released. Spanning key events of the Killzone trilogy, Killzone: Mercenary explores themes of greed, revenge and conscience against the epic canvas of full-scale military invasion. It’s the story of a young boy torn between two factions desperate for victory at any cost.
You can pick up the Instant Game Collection from the PlayStation Store.
